Week of January 8-14 , 2024: WEMTA Award of Excellence, January 8, 2024

 Today I received a letter from the Wisconsin Education Media and Technology Association that would receive their Excellence Award at the annual conference in March. 

This news is bringing me so much joy! I love working with WEMTA and the organization has helped me become the Library Media Specialist I am today. Most of us go to work every day and wonder if anyone actually notices our contributions. I've been feeling like this for a long time! I still believe the Waukesha School District has yet to value and utilize what I bring to the table, but I know my efforts are appreciated by my professional colleagues.

This picture was taken in March 2012 as I was helping set up equipment for the WEMTA conference. I think it embodies the Excellence Award - the everyday work we do to move our profession forward.
